Tarakaniv
In 1885-1890, on the border with what was then the Austro-Hungarian Empire, the Army of Tsarist Russia built a huge defensive fortress which survived two World Wars and still impresses with its vast scale. Three levels of the construction are above ground and three below, containing the remains of barracks, connecting passageways and tunnels which have been captivating and intriguing generation after generation of tourists.
Dubno
This ancient city of the historic region of Volin has 29 notable architectural monuments, making up the Dubno Historical-Cultural Reserve. But the most outstanding attraction of the city is the impregnable Dubno castle (dating from 1492) with not only its defensive ramparts and bastions but also the Ostrozky and Liubomorsky palaces (from the 16th and 18th centuries, respectively).
Klevan
This is the site of the world-famous “Tunnel of Love”, which is a botanic phenomenon, created from a dense growth of over-arching trees and bushes around a narrow gauge railway. Thanks to its unique romantic appeal it is a magnet for tourists, especially loving couples, from all around the world.
